This year Chain of Hope are delighted to have 13 incredible individuals running in aid of our charity at the TCS London Marathon! This is the highest number of runners we have had representing us at the London Marathon, and we’re so grateful to all 13 running to support children with life-threatening heart disease around the world.

Having grown up in Nigeria, Seyi’s personal experiences are a driving force behind his decision to run in aid of our charity.
"I grew up in Nigeria, a country with poor healthcare infrastructure and limited access to life-saving treatments and procedures, unless one had the means. I was lucky; my family had the means to access healthcare for me and my siblings, and I am well-aware that many other kids in Nigeria were not so lucky.
This is something I think about often and I admire organisations such as Chain of Hope with a mission to ensure that children have access to high quality treatments and support. I feel motivated to run the marathon for Chain of Hope because it provides an opportunity to raise funds and awareness of the incredible work the charity does"

Abbie has been a Specialist Intensive Care Nurse for eight years and has even represented our charity as a Medical Volunteer on a mission to Jamaica last year!
Abbie told us “I volunteered with Chain of Hope in February 2025 on a mission to Jamaica. The charity is close to my heart and its work energises and motivates me. I feel honoured to be able to run the London Marathon and raise money for Chain of Hope.”

Sarah and Dalia have been running and training together in the build up to the marathon and will be side by side throughout the 26 miles! They’ve been recording their journey on their Instagram page @Besties_run_a_marathon
Sarah – “Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine and doing so in support of Chain of Hope makes the the experience even more meaningful. I’ve been deeply inspired by by the incredible work the charity does – particularly it’s role in helping establish the Aswan Heart Centre, along with other life-saving initiatives around the world. This is more than a race for me, it’s the chance to contribute to a cause I truly believe in. Sharing this journey with my best friend and raising funds for such an impactful organisation is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Dalia - “Knowing that each mile can help provide life-saving cardiac care to children in need will not only inspire me throughout the training and race but will make the entire journey profoundly more meaningful.”

You may recognise Millie from joining Chain of Hope on various missions over the years to help us capture the best video footage of our work. We are so thankful to Millie for all the work she does and now she’s going one step further, by running a marathon for us! Millie previously ran a marathon in 2016 for the Stroke Association and has even represented Chain of Hope in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in the past.
Millie has a target of finishing in four hours forty-five minutes. Go Millie!

Jude was ready to run in last years London Marathon for our charity, but had to pull out due to injury, and now he’s more determined than ever to make this a marathon to remember.
“Running the London Marathon has always been one of my biggest life goals and to be able to run for Chain of Hope makes the occasion even more special. To run and be able to raise awareness and show support for such an amazing charity is so important to me. The work Chain of Hope does is so incredible and changes the lives of children that don’t have the chance to receive the care they need from elsewhere. I know that running for Chain of Hope will give me the extra push in the many hours of training and especially on the day when I wear the Chain of Hope vest.”

Our next runner is Radwa, a Consultant Cardiologist. She understands the need for and importance of our charity.
“I am a keen runner and can’t think of a charity I believe in more strongly to fundraise for. I first heard about Chain of Hope many years ago when I was a junior trainee doctor in Cairo, Egypt. Since then, while working in the field of congenital heart disease in the UK, I have repeatedly heard inspiring stories from colleagues who have taken part in Chain of Hope missions.”
I took part in the Manchester Marathon in 2024 and I’m hoping to beat my time of three hours and fifty-two minutes!”

Hatem is running in his third marathon after completing the 2023 & 2025 Berlin Marathons. Hatem told us:
" I have always believed in running for a purpose. Helping people through running at the London Marathon is a great thing to do and i'm glad it's to support Chain of Hope and it's mission. My target time is Three hours and twenty minutes."
Melissa, just like Jude, was due to run in aid of our charity in last year's London Marathon, but sadly had to pull out due to injury. This year Melissa is ready and raring to go.
"After hearing about the amazing work Chain of Hope does through British Airways, I was inspired to support children around the world suffering with heart disease. I have previosuly completed an Ultra marathon and I hope to finish in less than four hours!"
Sinead has been training hard for the marathon, and understands the importance of the work Chain of Hope does.
“Chain of Hope is an amazing charity that supports children with heart disease. Hearing about the difficulties happening around the world today means those children need support now more than ever. I have done half marathons before, but honestly, I just want to complete the marathon, raise money and emjoy the experience!”
Colleagues Michael, Jack and Wes are all looking forward to running in aid of our charity this weekend and all three have varied experinces of running.
Michael has completed a number of marathons before and is hoping to finish in a time of three hours. Jack has done half marathons and he too is hoping to complete in a time of three hours. Wes has ran 10km many times, but this test of 26 miles will be nothing like he has done before. He's hoping to finish in three hours thrity minutes!
We wish all of our runners the very best of luck and thank them for their incredible fundraising efforts for our charity!
