Ahmed is an 11-month-old with down syndrome who was born in Iraq with a complete AV canal defect. His family made the long journey - over 10 hours from Iraq to give him this life-changing surgery.

Ahmed was one of the first operated on by Dr Mark Turrentine on day one of our mission to Jordan in September 2025.

Ahmed showed just how strong he is by breathing on his own soon after surgery thanks to his healthy lungs! Ahmed made a speedy recovery at Al Khalidi Hospital and as a token of his appreciation, presented Chain of Hope with a gift! Ahmed is now back at home happy and healthy!
