The first UK medical institution to treat children being cared for by Chain of Hope. The Trust supports the charity medically and operationally and many children brought to the UK by Chain of Hope are treated at the Royal Brompton.

Founded in 2000 by Dr. Antonio Leitao Marques and Dr. Manuel Autunes, this organisation grew from a previous cooperation between Portugal and Mozambique for the treatment of cardiovascular patients.

Since its inception in 1988, La Chaîne de l'Espoir has brought together surgeons, nurses, host families, sponsors and donors to provide care for children living in regions with little or no access to essential medical treatment.

British Airways supports Chain of Hope by donating flights for travelling medical teams and helping wherever possible to ensure our children enjoy as comfortable a flight as possible when travelling to and from the UK.
